New Order
New Order emerged from Manchester post-punk band Joy Division after the death of front man, Ian Curtis, in 1980. New Order were one of the most influential bands of the 1980s, taking Joy Division’s new wave sound a step further by incorporating electronic influences. The band are guitarist and vocalist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook, drummer Stephen Morris and keyboardist Gillian Gilbert. They debuted in March 1981 with the single ‘Ceremony’.
