Count Basie & His Orchestra
One of the most important band leaders of the swing era, Count Basie’s orchestra was characterised by light rhythms, lively ensembles and long solos. Apart from a brief inactive spell in the early '50s, Basie led a big band from 1935 until his death 50 years later.
