Dr. John
Pianist Dr John has been active in the music industry since the late '50s, fusing New Orleans R&B, rock and Mardi Gras to come up with his own style of "voodoo" music. He gained reputation in the New Orleans R&B scene as a session keyboardist and guitarist, but moved on exclusively to the keyboards after a gun accident damaged his hand in the early 1960s. He moved to Los Angeles, renaming himself Dr John. His debut album, ‘Gris-Gris’, was released in1968.
