Emperor

Norwegian black metal band Emperor formed in 1992, and pioneered an aggressive metal sound which was also inspired by traditional folk and classical music. The group released their debut album ‘In The Nightside Eclipse’ in 1994, but were hampered around the same time when original drummer Bard “Faust” Eithun was imprisoned for the random murder of a homosexual man. However, the band continued to record and tour, and have since released a number of well-received albums which have gained them a sizeable following among the extreme music community.
