R.E.M.
US garage rock band REM was formed in Athens, Georgia in 1980, and debuted the next year with the single ‘Radio Free Europe’ followed by the album ‘Murmur’ in 1983. They first achieved mainstream success in 1987 with the single, ‘The One I Love’, winning several Grammies, one of them for the 1991 single, ‘Losing My Religion’.
