Phace

Phace is the alias used by Florian Harres, an electronic music producer (electro, bass, drum and bass, dubstep, glitch etc.) and label owner from Hamburg, Germany. His sound can be described as atmospheric and powerful, imbued with deep cinematic flourishes, explosive energy, and human analog touch. He is known for his rhythmical experimentation, accompanied with deep twisted bass sounds, high contrasting ambience, and smooth flowing pad synthesisers. He has released music on Vision, Shogun Audio, Invisible, Virus Recordings, Lifted Music, Subtitles Music, Renegade Hardware, Neosignal, mau5trap and OWSLA (both with Phace's new project, Neosignal), among others. He has also collaborated with the popular drum and bass group Noisia on several occasions and he is also known for his precise and energetic sets. His constant touring has taken him to metropolises in all corners of the planet. The initial Phace project was started together with long-time friend Nicholas Ruoff in 2000. After early releases (on various labels) and touring, Phace got voted ‘Best National Drum & Bass Producer and DJ' in 2006 (and again later in 2009 ‘Best National Producer’) at Germany’s Future Music Awards.
