A warm breeze blows through the well-trimmed palm trees outside a Los Angeles recording studio. The overcast skies blanket the notorious city with a marine layer of eerie gloom that fittingly matches the soulful atmosphere, setting the mood for the ending of a painful era. Inside, the lights are dim. Smoke fills the vocal chambers as the heat from a hand-made cigar sits cradled in a glass tray, still glistening from the moisture off of an artists lips. Across the vocal glass, a musical legend sits idle. His eyes are closed as his head bobs to the rhythmic pulse of the 909-kick drum. The legends name? Young MC. Today’s recording session @ L.A.’s famous Paramount Studios is the last before the album is complete. The Anticipation builds as the solo debut of a rising Starr begins to take shape as possibly one of the strongest albums of 2005. The artist is Ready Starr and the album he is wrapping up is titled, “Sugar Sandwiches”…In 2003, Ready left the group and was released from his record deal to pursue a solo career. He immediately returned back to his Los Angeles roots, and soon connected with Young MC to begin work on his solo debut… The debut record, titled, “Paradise” is already causing such a stir that is has been downloaded by radio stations WORLDWIDE, and the album, “Sugar Sandwiches” (scheduled to be released in May of 2005) is collecting rave reviews throughout the industry. It appears, a STARR is born!!!!!!
