Steve Reich
Steve Reich is usually identified with the musical style known as minimalism. Reich started out playing mainly jazz, but soon began experimenting with tapes and layers of sound. He has since played with a variety of bands and artists, as well as extensive work as a solo artist, and has taken inspirations from foreign cultures, such as Ghanaian and Indonesian music and dance. During the early ‘90s he moved on to exploring combinations of music and video.
