Thee Hypnotics

Thee Hypnotics were a 1990s British garage/psychedelic/hard rock band. They were part of the early alternative rock scene, releasing two full-length albums and an EP from 1989-1990 before taking an enforced hiatus due to their drummer breaking his back in a car accident while they were on tour in the United States. They later regrouped and released a couple more records but never achieved mainstream success. Their music was mostly influenced by late 1960s blues-influenced hard rock bands like The Stooges, MC5, The Doors, Blue Cheer, early Led Zeppelin and Pink Fairies.[citation needed] They remain a largely forgotten precursor to stoner rock. Vocalist Jim Jones currently fronts The Jim Jones Revue. A self-titled debut album was released in 2008 to some acclaim.
