BBE (Barely Breaking Even) started life in the mid-'90s as a club promoting venture helmed by Pete Adarkwah and Ben Jolly. Since then, the label has progressed to releasing everything from hip-hop and reissues of dusty old funk 7"s to jazzy house, Latin and future soul.
